Book: Lolitas in the Wall Street Journal
It seems that those cutting-edge fashion sleuths at the Wall Street Journal have finally discovered the Japanese Lolita scene. The article's cursory and not very interesting if you own a copy of Gothic & Lolita Bible (I just got no. 14, and it's great — expect a recap of the last few soon), or even a copy of FRUiTS. The author seems to be as oblivious to the extreme amount of transvetism within the scene as I was, because she mentions that men are a rarity in the scene. The movie featuring a Lolita main character sounded intriguing, too. But still, this scene has been going strong for four or five years now, and they're just now writing about it?
(Thanks to Tammy for the pointer!)
TrackBackWell, it is the Wall Street Journal. If you want cutting-edge analysis of economics or business, then they're a good bet. Global fashion? Probably not their strong suit.
I saw this and was going to tell you about it, but I forgot to. This is probably proof that Tammy is a better person than I am, or at least likes you more than I do :)
