I got a bill a while back for 150 bucks. The total was 300, but insurance covered half. I figured that was reasonable. Yep. Well- today i get a bill, and SURPRISE! IT turns out that I owe ANOTHER 500 MOTHERFUCKING DOLLARS!!!! and that's AFTER THE $700 THAT THE INSURANCE PAID!!! Yes- that's right. To get 9 stitches in my thumb cost almost $1400!!!
I don't even know what to say. This is fucked.

she seems okay but definately damaged. her moto-tour is cut short and they are both heading to Miami for recovery and presumably mai-tai sipping and botox injections.
sorry to ruin your surprise, Meewah, but figured the eener crew could help me send good vibrators vibrations your way.
unfortunately, this also means she will not be visiting my mexican bungalow any time soon. ahhhh well, as they say down here, "el mono con buena suerte volverá algún día pronto".

I found it on a rock by a lake and liked all the shimmering green feathers attached and thought, "Wow, this would look great on a necklace!" Long story short, bad idea. So with the help of Dael and his neighbor Valle and the proper tools conveniently at hand, we had ourselves a delightful little surgery in the kitchen. Sorry I didn't remember to video it for ya, I know it's just what you love, especially the part where we had to keep pushing the hook deeper in so it could break back through the skin and come out on the other side. But it worked and thanks to friends, saved me a few smackers. I had to follow up with a tetanus shot at a clinic which was almost more freakish than the fish hook incident, and they gave me some anti-biotics for possible infection. This was the stuff they made in sudden mondo quantities last year or so to treat anthrax and now have lots and lots left over with nowhere to go. So if any of ya get a surprise anthrax scare, just gimme a call, I'll hook ya up.

i too had a wound one day far ago. After insisting I needed stitches, the nurse led me to a doctor who insisted I didn´t. He cleaned it, put a band-aid on it, and gave me an ibuprofin (only 200 mg (cheap bastard)). The result? A get-well, $180 bill in the mail for 10 min of the doc´s precious time.
I called everyday bitching about the ethics, about the piss-state of health care. Eventually, someone must have erased it from the system. I say to you, complain like hell and bug the shit outta the staff. Everyday call like 10 times. Maybe they will hate you/feel sorry for your ass and delete you as well.
either way, i am sorry. The US sends the message if you are poor, you arent worth education, health care, or rehab. And yet, the US is structured to KEEP you poor. God Bless Uhmerica. I can see now why "everyone is jealous of our freedom".
They're just jealous because our Prez is a Merkin.
